Chicago ARTEahora

The First Chicago Latin American Art Fair – Chicago ARTEahora – is an interna-tional art fair celebrating the important role Latin American Art currently plays in the international art arena. Chicago ARTEahora will concentrate on modern and contemporary Latin American Art, its history, progress and the cross-cultural impact it has around the world.

The vision of the Chicago ARTEahora is to become one of the most important and cre-ative international art show that combines diversity, creativity and the integrity of Latin American Art with stirring cultural events, special exhibitions, education-al programs, and crossover events including music, film, theater, fashion, archi-tecture and design, and all the fun and the facilities the City of Chicago has to offer as one of the most sophisticated and cultural cities in the world.

Chicago ARTEahora will host an exclusive selection of works by both well-known and established 20th and 21st century artists, cutting-edge newcomers, as well as the self-taught. The show will be a vital source for art collectors, artists, dealers, curators, crit-ics and art enthusiasts from around the world to find the new developments in Latin American Art.

The River East Art Center is the perfect Chicago venue to give rise to stunning works of importance – masterpieces to be discovered and cherished by local residents. As a neighborhood resource, it will bring sophisticated Chicago resi-dents and artists together, and forward, into a new age of growth, expression and appreciation of life, for each individual, and for the community as a whole.

Art dealers and curators, Aldo Castillo and Thomas Monahan are collaborating to produce this open-to-the-public-exhibition. Mikki Markowicz, President East art center is hosting the fair.

Aldo Castillo is an art curator who has more than 25 years of experience man-aging, marketing and developing arts. Having curated more than 250 exhibi-tions Aldo Castillo is Chicago’s most respected cultural spokesperson one of Latin American visual art.

Thomas Monahan, a private dealer in Chicago for more than three decades, represents prominent 20th century Latin American artists including Matta, Wi-fredo Lam, and Agustin Cárdenas. He also consults on Latin American Sotheby’s and Christie’s and has curated prominent museum shows.
