- Tarsila Viajera. (Tarsila Travels). MALBA, Costantini Foundation. Buenos Aires, Argentina

After being shown from January 19 to March 23 in São Paulo, Brazil, at the Nineteenth-century museum space that houses the Pinacoteca do Estado, the impeccable anthological exhibit Tarsila Viajera (Tarsila Travels), curated by Regina Teixeira de Barros, arrived at MALBA (Latin-American Art Museum of Buenos Aires), Argentina. This event inaugurates MALBA’s exhibition season and showcases an innovative exhibit design that goes well with the new venue housing this monographic retrospective. Read the news



- The Scream by Edvard Munch has been restored once again. Oslo, Norway

Following their recovery after being stolen on August, 22 2004, the works The Scream (1910) and The Madonna (1893–1894) by Edvard Munch were restored to repair damage in both paintings caused during their robbery, particularly those of The Scream. Restoration was possible in part by contributions from a private Japanese sponsor. During its restoration, it was discovered that this version of The Scream at the Oslo Museum was painted in 1910 and not in 1893, as previously believed. Read more

- FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus Sculpture Garden Grows. Miami, Florida

On May, 2008, FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus Sculpture Garden will grow. Thanks to a generous donation from Marc Routh, art collector from New York, and funding from the Florida Art in State Buildings Program. “Column Trees,” the work of Cuban-born artist Florencio Gelabert, will be available for public viewing along Biscayne Bay. The company Petrobrás Energía SA invites artists to participate in the photography competition Petrobrás-Buenos Aires Photo. The theme of the competition is free, and its purpose is to support any new photographic manifestations. The call is open to all amateur and professional photographers with no regard to nationality or place of residence. No direct family relatives or employees of organizers and jury members can participate. Each author may submit only one image of approximately 20 _ 30 centimeters in size (send unmounted). Applicants must submit their work before September 5, 2008, addressed to “Petrobrás-Buenos Aires Photo”. For more information read the news
