Uruguayan artist Luis Camnitzer received the Frank Jewett Mather Award given by the College Art Association (CAA) on February 10, 2001, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is the first time that a Latin American artist receives such distinction.

São Paulo - Venezuelan born Luis Pérez - Oramas has been appointed as the curator in chief for the 2012 São Paulo International Biennial. Pérez-Oramas is expected to begin working on the selection of the curatorial team that will accompany him in the organization process of the Biennial.

National Design Triennial: Why Design Now?

The Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum organizes exhibitions that center on design. The creation of the National Design Triennial confirms such focus. Although still called a National event, the fourth edition of the Triennial is actually global in scope. It was curated by Ellen Lupton, Cara McCarty, Matilda McQuaid, and Cynthia Smith.
