"María Sarrate 2011" Research Scholarship

The Centro de Arte y Naturaleza (CDAN) in Huesca, Spain, announced the fourth call to participate in the "María Sarrate" Research Scholarship aimed at art historians, artists, humanists, librarians, documentary makers, and researchers who are interested in the study of contemporary art centered on the CDAN collection (Colección Beulas-Sarrate and Colección Arte y Naturaleza).

Contemporary Art Collection of the Museo de Arte, Lima, at the Pinacoteca

Beginning on May 28, the collection of contemporary Peruvian art from the Museo de Arte in Lima (MALI) will be exhibited for the first time outside Peru at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, in Brazil. The exhibition consists of a selection of works from that collection and is curated by Tatiana Cuevas, in collaboration with independent curator Rodrigo Quijano.

Complex and Fascinating Louise Bourgeois at Proa Foundation

Pain and redemption, passion and fear dominate Louise Bourgeois: The Return of the Repressed, an astounding exhibition of works by Louise Bourgeois (Paris, 1911 ¿ New York, 2010) at Proa Foundation. The show explores the life and art of a key Twentieth-Century artist who, through her lucidity and capacity for introspection, found "visual equivalents" to "psychological states".

Virtual Walls) that opened in September at the Galería Villa Manuela, welcomed visitors with a provocative installation. There, a “passport” from the North or from the South became the reward to those able to find more than one wooden hoop on the bars that stuck out from a large planisphere.
