And he reveals in public the shame that society keeps out of sight: in psychiatric institutions, prisons, or borderlands. For the great art of the classic period, to reveal was to bring into the image transcendent truths that had remained hidden; in Téllez, to reveal is to bring into the image truths that are too human and too everyday, truths that our collective psyche keeps under wraps.

A vanguardist artist known for his installations, Cesar Cornejo¿s latest exhibition is entitled Presentación del Proyecto para el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puno (Presentation of the Project for the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puno). Cornejo chose this title to make his proposal known to the artistic community of Lima and to the general public. The project envisions the creation of a museum of contemporary art in the homes of the citizens of Puno: the MAC Puno.
