Torres-García at His Crossroads

The Museo de Arte da Cataluña presents until September 11 of 2011, Torres-García at His Crossroads, an exhibition that gathers more than 80 works-most of these drawings and many never-before-shown-from the collection of Alejandra, Aurelio, and Claudio Torres. Also including paintings and wood constructions, the exhibition surveys the artistic trajectory of Joaquín Torres-García during the first half of the 20th Century.

Argentine Art in the Malba Collection 1989-2010 Works

From June 10 to August 29, the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires presents a selection of over 100 works from its collection that were created between the end of the 1980s and present time by 60 Argentine artists. The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, photographs, objects, installations, and videos that showcase the great variety of visual production of recent decades.

Donation

A Work by Matta Will be Part of the IVAM Collection

The collection of the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM) has been enriched with the donation of the work entitled Espejo de la Memoria (Mirror of Memory) by Roberto Matta. The work was presented to Consuelo Ciscar, the director of the Museum, by the artist's widow Germana Matta.

Águeda Lozano

A painting entitled Mi Homenaje al Cuadrado (My Tribute to the Square, 1974) by Águeda Lozano (Mexico, 1944) shows two squares both rendered in the color beige placed in front of a black background. One square is tilted and the other only half of it showing displays a serrated crevice.
