4th Blank Paper Photography Fellowship

Spain's Blank Paper Photography School is calling for the 4th edition of its fellowship for photography studies. The school will offer three fellowships, consistent with the second cycle of Blank Paper Masters in Creation and Development of a personal project in the city of Madrid, and the Annual Program in its Castellón and Valencia sites.

Exhibition

Lucian Freud

The Jumex Collection of contemporary art, in collaboration with Televisa Guadalajara, has organized an exhibition presenting a selection of its holdings. The show, significant in that it is the first time Jumex Collection has developed a curatorship for the general public with the number and singularity of works included here, is titled Now and will be open between October 5th, 2011 and January 8th, 2012, at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas (ICC).

Through August 14th, the Spanish Embassy in Uruguay and the AECID (Agencia Española de la Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo) presented the exhibition Polaroid Gigante 50x60 at the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales in Montevideo Uruguay, thanks to the support of the Centro Andaluz de la Fotografía.

Mariana Rondón

At the end of 2010, young Venezuelan filmmaker, Mariana Rondón, presented a video-mechanical installation that was the result of eight years of research. It is a robotic invention that consists of a large machine with arms that move vertically and horizontally - the two degrees of freedom that allow them to move in that manner - trays with a soapy solution, and video-projectors.
