Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development

The Prince Claus Awards recognize the highest achievements in the field of culture and international development. Every year the awards are granted to 11 individuals or organizations whose cultural actions have a positive impact in the development of their social environments.
José Gurvich, Crossing Borders
The Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires—MAMBA—presents until October 6, 2013 the exhibition entitled José Gurvich, Crossing Borders. Sponsored by the Fundación José Gurvich, the exhibition is curated by Cristina Rossi and includes more than 90 works created by the Lithuanian-born artist.
Soundings: A Contemporary Score
This is MoMA’s first large-scale exhibition devoted to sound art. It presents the work of 16 of the most innovative contemporary artists working with sound in a variety of disciplines such as the visual arts, architecture, performance, computer programming, and music.
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Santiago reopens its Main Exhibition Hall
The main exhibition hall of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Santiago was reopened on August 27. This section of the museum was closed following the theft of two works by artist Damien Hirst that were property of art collector Juan Yarur. The museum was broken into on August 15 of this year while an outdoor concert attended by 60,000 people was going on.
International Seminar in Art History and Feminism: From Discourse to Exhibition
The second edition of the International Seminar in Art History and Feminism: From Discourse to Exhibition, organized by Chile’s Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, will be held on October 15th and 16th.
7th "Inquieta Imagen" Central American Video Creation and New Digital Media Competition
The Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo (MADC) in San José, Costa Rica, opens its call for the 2013 "Inquieta Imagen" Competition aimed at encouraging the production of contemporary and experimental artistic proposals created in new media.
New Painting by Vincent Van Gogh Discovered
The Van Gogh Museum recently discovered a new work by the Dutch artist. Entitled Sunset at Montmajour, the painting measures 72 x 93 cm (28.34 x 36.60 in). It is a true rarity that a work of such caliber could be identified as authentic and become part of the Museum’s collection.
Yayoi Kusama
A conversation between Yayoi Kusama, Japan's artist, and Philip Larratt-Smith, curator of Kusama's first retrospective in Latin America, titled Obsesión infinita and organized by MALBA. The "Princess of Polka Dots", as Kusama is known, talks about her work, it's relationship with polka dots, and the way in which art has helped her overcome illness. Yayoi Kusama has lived in a psychiatric hospital near her studio since 1977.
