National Curatorship Award 2013
Cuba's National Visual Arts Council recently announced in Havana its 2013 National Curatorship Awards, in the categories of Solo and Group exhibition.
Victoria Noorthoorn takes on the Directorship of the Museo de Arte Moderno - Buenos Aires
Argentinean curator Victoria Noorthoorn was appointed last month the new Director of the Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires.
Kinetic Works by Julio Le Parc
From October 12, 2013 to February 23, 2014, Casa Daros in Rio de Janeiro presents the exhibition entitled Le Parc Lumière - Kinetic Works by Julio Le Parc. The show reflects one of the most important aspects in the work by the Argentinean artist: his preoccupation with changing light.
Ana Mendieta
This exhibition centers on the work of Cuban-born US artist Ana Mendieta. The show emphasizes the manner in which her style evolved to place her at the forefront of a generation of innovative artists whose works erased the boundaries of convention within the world of exhibitions and art collecting.
Colombian Nocturnes
Located in the city of Paris, the Musée du Quai Branly presents until February 2, 2014, the exhibition entitled Colombian Nocturnes. Contemporary Images. the inauguration was presided over by Christine Barthe, head of the photography collections at the Musée du Quai Branly.
The Department of Architecture and Contemporary Art at the Getty Research Institute is accepting applications for a graduate intern (2014-2015) with a specialization in Latin American art
The intern in the Department of Architecture and Contemporary Art will participate in all programmatic activities of the department, which includes a wide range of subjects in contemporary art, architecture, and cinema, as well as ongoing digital projects and preparation for the upcoming initiative Pacific Standard Time: L.A./L.A. The intern will assist with research projects, acquisitions, exhibitions, publications, and public programs.
Cruz-Diez "En Blanco y Negro"
Masterful artist Carlos Cruz-Diez celebrated his 90th birthday. Here we present a recent interview conducted on the occasion of his exhibition Cruz-Diez en Blanco y Negro, at the BBVA Foundation in Caracas. The interview reveals a little-known aspect of his career: his experience as a photographer, which, as he tells us, evolved from the desire to document his works and out of affection, in the company of some of his friends.
