Rivane Neuenschwander Wins the 2013 Yanghyun Prize
The Yanghyun Foundation announced the Brazilian artist Rivane Neuenschwander as the recipient of the 2013 Yanghyun Prize. Neuenschwander has been selected by the jury consisting of Fumio Nanjo, Director of Mori Art Museum, and Philippe Vergne, Director of Dia Art Foundation, who commented in their statement that "Neuenschwander's work brings together painting, photography, film, sculpture, installation and collaboration with audience, and is often based on an awareness of simple gestures, processes and quotidian 'savoir faire'.

Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art
Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art will be on view from October 25, 2013 through March 2, 2014. Following its presentation in Washington, D.C., the exhibition will travel to six cities across the United States. The exhibition is organized by E. Carmen Ramos, curator of Latino art at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
La Vasija Biennial 2013
On September 20 of this year the Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura opened the 2013 edition of La Vasija Biennial with the award ceremony and the inauguration of the exhibition-competition. The event was sponsored by the Museo de la Cerámica Contemporánea Cubana.

Tomie Ohtake
On the occasion of the exhibition Pintura e Pureza, works by Brazilian-Japanese artist Tomie Ohtake at Nara Roesler gallery, Agnadio Farias, visual arts curator at the Tomie Ohtake Institute talks about the show and Ohtake's work, with special reference to her use of monochromes, her creation of textures and backgrounds, and the ways in which her art is a contribution to debates about color. This exhibition was a part of the celebratory program for Ohtake's 100th birthday, intended to present the public with a wide panoramic of her abundant oeuvre.
