The Board of Directors of United States Artists (USA), one of the largest grant-donating and support organization for artist working in the fields of visual, performing and literary arts, among other media, in the US, recently announced the appointment of Carolina Garcia Jayaram as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Estímulos 2014
The Colombian Ministry of Culture invites participants to its yearly Estímulos 2014 program.
The program features a total of 123 calls, through which more than 578 grants will be given for a total of 12,600 million pesos (approximately 6.3 million dollars).

Art Residencies for Ibero America and Haiti Creators
With the purpose of offering artists and curators from Latin America and Haiti a common creative space that enriches individual creative projects and fosters the establishment of networks between artists in those countries, the Mexican government, will provide up to 20 art residencies in Mexico.
Third Kosice Biennial
The call for participation in the third edition of the Kosice Biennial will remain open until March 15. The event was created to pay tribute to Gyula Kosice with the goal of promoting the development of artistic-technological projects.
Auction with Works by Miró Cancelled
Auctioneer Christie's announced the cancellation of a London sale of 85 artworks by Catalan artist Joán Miró that were going to be part of an auction scheduled this past February 4, 2014.
Detrás del muro / Behind the Wall
Detrás del muro (Behind the Wall) is Juan Delgado Calzadilla´s curatorial project for the most recent Havana Biennial, in which he showed, along the 4 miles of the Malecón in Havana, works by 25 Cuban artists, living in the island and abroad. The show referred to vital subjects of Cuban identity and included especially conceived site-specific works.
