Darío Escobar: Broken Circle
The Craft & Folk Art Museum presents Darío Escobar: Broken Circle, the first solo museum exhibition in Los Angeles of the Guatemalan artist. Escobar is known for reinventing everyday objects and sports paraphernalia into compelling sculptures that are layered with history and playfulness.
A Thousand Doors
An innovative exhibition by Greek and international artists opens at the Gennadius Library, in Athens, from May 4 to June 30.
Richard Hamilton
Beginning on July 27 and until October 13 of 2014, the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía will hold the most comprehensive retrospective ever organized of British painter Richard Hamilton. This exhibition was initially conceived for the MNCARS by the artist himself, who was directly involved in its organization during the early part of 2010 and until his death, in September 2011.
New Space
KIOSKO – Contemporary Art Space
The new architectural complex for contemporary art in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in Bolivia, will be completed in July of 2014. It is an independent space directed to artists, curators, collectors, researchers, designers, and the general public. The space has two exhibition venues: Kiosko Galería and NUBE Gallery, a patio for events, Café/Bar, a library specialized in art-design and an archive that contains the data of national and international artists, a video library, a storage area, living quarters and a workshop.
