José Miguel García Cortés
José Miguel García Cortés has been named as the new director of the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno for the next six years. The decision was made by a committee of experts charged with evaluating all candidates after Consuelo Císcar announced she was stepping down.
Arte para + Arte, FLORA 2014
The silent auction Arte para + Arte, FLORA 2014 will be held at the Chambers of Commerce in Bogota (Chapinero location) on October 9, 2014. The auction was organized to raise funds for 2015 and to consolidate the physical presence of flora through the opening of a larger and more complete library, along with 12 studies so more artistic grants and emerging curators can be offered.
Al desnudo. The Ordóñez Falcón Photography Collection
The exhibition Al desnudo. The Ordóñez Falcón Photography Collection, featuring 93 photographic works and four videos, can be seen at Gallery B of the TEA, Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, through January 18, 2015.

The Norton Museum of Art announced the nominations for the second edition of the Rudin Prize. Works by the nominees will be part of a group exhibition at the Museum between October 2, 2014 and January 11, 2015.
Mexico´s Museo de Arte Moderno turns 50
Mexico´s Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM) is turning fifty, having been established in 1964 as a space for the promotion of the artistic avant garde and the internationalization of Mexican artists.
The Pompidou in Malaga
The president of the Centre Georges Pompidou, Alan Seban, along with the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, participated in the official presentation of the new Pompidou Centre in Malaga, which will be housed in the large space of El Cubo in Pier One and will open in 2015.
Jeff Koons at Whitney Museum of American Art
The Whitney Museum of American Art is presenting a Jeff Koons retrospective, the largest exhibition of works by the American artist in a New York museum and the first to occupy exclusively with Koons´ art almost the entirety of the Withney building.
In this video, produced and edited by BLOUIN ARTINFO, Koons briefly introduces some of the almost 150 works featured in the retrospective. Among them, the Play–Doh, created in a process that lasted almost two decades and exhibited for the first time in this show. Additionally, the video summarizes Koon"s 35–year career.
