Organizers of the 29th BMW Painting Award announced the winners of this edition of the event. With a purse of 25,000.00 euros, the Painting Award was conferred to 29–year–old artist Daniel Merlín–Lewin.

The Argentine artist talks about the show, which commemorates his 20 years of work with the gallery, noting in particular the diamond-shaped details of his installation, the use of maps, and geometry as significant elements in his work since the 1990s. He also explains the geopolitical references in his art, the use of paper fragments in his collages, and the way in which space becomes an element that inspires and motivates him to explore the boundaries of painting.
