AIRIE: Artist in Residence in Everglades

The WPBT2 South Florida PBS Channel presents a video about the AIRIE (Artist in Residence in Everglades) organization. Everglades National Park superintendent, Pedro Ramos, curator Tami Katz-Freiman, and AIRIE executive director, Deborah Mitchell, talk about the concept, purpose, curatorship, and process for the creation of the program. In addition, the video also features interviews with some of AIRIE's resident artists like photographer Susan Silas, who, through her photographs of birds displayed on billboards, inspired the creation of the Wild Billboard Project.

AIRIE is the only platform that involves artists and scientists in environmental research, creation, and conservation within a natural reserve. The purpose of this program is to offer a space for interaction, connection, and support to artists wishing to create artistic and environmental projects inspired on the Everglades National Park.
