The Observatory of Light by Daniel Buren

On the occasion of the exhibition titled "Being Modern: MoMA in Paris" to be inaugurated on October 11 at the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, we share the video produced by the foundation about the artistic intervention titled "The Observatory of Light" created by Daniel Buren in 2016. In this video, the French in situ artist talks about the process involved in the intervention of the façade of de building designed by architect Frank Gehry, who commissioned the work.

Buren transformed the building through the use of bright dyed filters on the twelve sails that cover the building. The artistic director of the foundation, Suzanne Pagé, and a few visitors talk about this impressive intervention that energizes the space through the effect of light, the interaction with the natural landscape and the colors reflected on the architecture.
