Cai Guo Qiang

The Chinese artist Cai Guo Qiang, who was the visual and special effects director at the ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games, presents the exhibition “The Spirit of Painting” at El Museo del Prado until March 4th, 2018. In the video produced by the museum, curator and conservator Alejandro Vergara talks about the importance of this first monographic exhibition produce in situ. The exhibition arises from the artist's continuous study of the spiritual figures of El Greco. Guo Qiana presented 27 paintings with gunpowder, eight of them made in the museum Salon de los Reinos.
