Francis Alÿs, Awarded the 2018 EYE Art & Film Prize
On April 5, the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam declared Francis Alÿs winner of the 2018 EYE Art & Film Prize, a recognition granted every year to an artist/filmmaker who makes a significant contribution to the interdisciplinary field of film and the visual arts.
Armando Reverón AVAP Awards 2017
The Asociación Venezolana de Artistas Plásticos [Venezuelan Association of Visual Artists] has presented the Armando Reverón Award every year since 1990.
Cadáveres indisciplinados "Undisciplined Corpses"
The exhibition titled "Undisciplined Corpses" by José Alejandro Restrepo will be on display at El Parqueadero of the Museo de Arte Miguel Urrutia (MAMU) from April 13 to June 18, 2018.

Visual Arts Grants
As it has been doing yearly since 1993, the Fundación Botín invites artists from any nationality to compete for eight visual arts grants that support education, research and the development of personal projects in the field of artistic creation (non-theoretical works).


Francis Alÿs
We feature the video produced by Rizoma on the life and work of Francis Alÿs. He was born in Belgium and lives and works in Mexico since 1986. Alÿs uses poetic and allegorical methods to address political and social realities, such as national borders, the local and the global, areas of conflict, the community, and the benefits and disadvantages of progress. His work includes video, painting, performance, drawing and photography.
