New Space
Kurimanzutto in New York

New York, NY

Founded in Mexico City by José Kuri and Mónica Manzutto, the Galería Kurimanzutto announced in March 1 that in May of this year it will open a new space in New York City: Kurimanzutto New York.

Kurimanzutto New York will be headed by Lissa McClure (former director of the Marian Goodman Gallery), who will serve as its senior director, and by Bree Zucker (coordinator of the Sonora 128 project), as its director.

About the new venue, Mónica Manzutto said: “The opening of our new space for projects in New York marks an essential development that will offer a point of encounter for the exchange of ideas between our growing family of artists. Our connection to New York has been close ever since we lived there during the 1990s and the city had remained an important part of our conversations throughout the years. With this new project we seek to deepen our already strong connections to the institutions, artists, and art professionals that have accompanied us throughout the years of our evolution. It is a way of maintaining and reaffirming our commitment to the development of the artistic currents that live and breathe in the city.”
