The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) opens an international call to find its next Artistic Director, position currently held by Agustín Pérez-Rubio, who will be leaving the post in June of 2018.

MALBA is internationally recognized as a point of reference for Latin American Art and beacon of the artistic and cultural life of Buenos Aires, Argentina. A non-profit organization, it houses an art collection of 600 Latin American art works created from the beginning of the 20th century to this day. Today, the museum is a dynamic cultural center that offers a very diverse program of contemporary and modern art exhibitions generally developed in collaboration with other regional and international institutions. With the mission of bringing the museum closer to the public and being an open space for the community, MALBA also offers film and literature departments as well as robust educational and editorial programs. Annually the institution attracts an average of 400,000 visitors.

The Museum seeks an internationally recognized leader with an outstanding professional reputation as a creator of artistic programs and the necessary network of contacts to continue elevating MALBA's profile in the international stage. He/she must be in tune with the context of the museum and its culture and feel comfortable working with its founder, Eduardo F. Costantini and with the newly appointed Board of Directors of the Fundación MALBA, having the ambition to take the organization to the next stage of its development. The post also requires someone capable of working closely with the Advisory Committee in the museum's institutional strategy, exhibitions and acquisition programs.

The selection will especially take into account the candidate's interest and expertise in the modern and contemporary art and culture of Latin America, his/her interpersonal and communication skills, and enthusiasm for developing an innovative program that contributes to increasing the impact of the museum by attracting a new and diverse public.

The selection process will be conducted by the international agency Liz Amos Associates: and will be overseen by the President and Board of the Fundación MALBA. The new director will be announced publicly during the month of May, 2018.

Term: 4 year contract, renewable for an additional period.
