Artists Selected Announced for the Adelina Residencies

São Paulo, Brazil

The Instituto Adelina received over two hundred applications from artists from Brazil and across Latin America. The selection of artists was entrusted to a jury formed by Camila Bechelany, Galciani Neves, Julia Lima, Vitor Cesar, Renata Cruz, and Josué Mattos, the curator of the residency. In addition to the artistic quality of the proposals, the jurors also looked for the representation of a broad range of genres and Latin American regions with the goal of broadening the scope of the regional exchanges. Over ten Latin American countries were represented by the proposals submitted for the call for the Adelina Residencies.

The following four artists selected by the call stand out for the quality of the projects they submitted:

First Phase (from 08/01 to 09/29): Elle de Bernardini (Brazil) and Natalia Forcada (Argentina).

Second Phase (from 10/01 to 11/29): Efe Godoy (Brazil) and Abigail Reyes (El Salvador).

The four artists-in-residence will receive lodging; help with covering living expenses, as well as production money for the completion of their respective projects. They will also have access to the studio located in the São Paulo neighborhood of Perdizes, to public programs organized by the Instituto Adelina, and will be able to schedule open studio time for the exhibition of their creative processes.
