White Levittown House
George Sánchez-Calderón

2012
Limited edition of 50
Exclusive to the Unscripted, Bal Harbour Art Program

This white silkscreened "Levittown House" is a solid wood 12 x 7 x 7 inch freestanding sculpture with a black and white image of the Levittown home -the first William Levitt-designed 1940's suburban home- hand screened on to its surface. As a unique edition of 50 each house is individually numbered on a brass plaque on its base, embodying the symbol of the "American Dream," and standing as a monument to the single family home that were so popular in the 1940's and 1950's.

Created alongside the 2012-2013 Unscripted, Bal Harbour winning public art commission "Pax Americana" by George Sánchez-Calderón this limited edition series is a miniature of the six-month long installation of the actual house that stood on Bal Harbour's Founder's circle last fall.

The proceeds of this sculpture edition fund Unscripted artist commissions.
